How can I make my teeth whiter?
Updated: Jun 16, 2020
The first step to a whiter smile is to have an extensive teeth cleaning which includes removing all plaque and calculus deposits on the teeth. Following scaling, the teeth are polished removing surface stains and establishing a clean surface to whiten. After a good cleaining, the teeth will already appear whiter and will be prepped for whitening.
The next step is professional teeth whitening consisting of both an nighttime treatment and in-office whitening treatment. Your first whitening visit will consist of the fabrication of custom trays that seal the gel in and prevent any leakage onto the gums. This allows the prescription strength whitening gel to safely whiten the teeth overnight removing deep stains. Following the at home treatment, the patient will return for chairside whitening.
Difficult cases will receive a jump start whitening treatment before starting the nighttime treatment and in-office treatment.
Whitening is considered a cosmetic procedure and is not covered by dental insurance or FSA. At home whitening starts at $299.
